It's quite waxy, has long trailing "tentacles" with small leaves at about 1 cm intervals and a collelction of star shaped white flowers at the end of each tentacle that have purple bead-like flowers in the middle and I never have seen another one like it so would love to know what it is called. Thank you!!

i would love to help you because i love nature but i need some sort of picture to actually help you. if you don't know what it is look up flowers with the same description and when you got that flower as the person who gave it to you.

I wonder could it be a hoya? or does it have a strong perfume,. if so, maybe a stephanotis. Try googling those two names and see if it might be one of them. Good luck.

It sounds to me to be a type of Christmas Cactus. They come in a variety of colors, this one's a dark pink:
