To love someone.
Being faithfull, honest, and true.
Its being accepted as you are, and accepting them as they are.
Being willing to discuss even the harder subjects.
Make a real effort to communicate.
Being willing to discuss and make compromises.
Being willing to include your partner in all aspects of your life.
Being aware that love changes with time, but that doesn't mean that its not as good.
Always love should include hope.
Being worthy of the faith your partner puts in you.
Being aware that love isn't going to be perfect, because perfection is impossible. Be prepared to forgive slights, and mistakes.
Its wanting the best for the other person.
Love, real love, is never violent. It is not distructive. It is not abusive. It is not controlling or manipulative. It is not jealous, or nasty, or rude and insensitive.
And to really love someone, you must believe yourself worthy of their love.

Loving some one does not always mean loving for opposite sex. You may love your parents, teachers or some one who really cares you. It is a natural instinct that arise from your own thinking of the object.

To me it means: accepting the good qualities along with the bad, being able to put their wants and needs before your own sometimes, trusting the person to know your deepest darkest secrets, and caring more about the way they feel than anyone else.
I know it's alot more than that but those were the top things that popped in my head.

It means you'll do anything to make sure they don't get hurt. It means being thoughtful, being there. When you feel physical pain when they're not there. Loving someone also means you will do something or let them do something that'll benefit them, but hurt you....and do it voluntarily.

For me, It means to care for them and actually be happy with their sucesses without an ounce of jealousy.
It also means to see yourself as a team with someone, not bound by need, but by a desire to push and be pushed to your best.
Also, loving someone means being able to share their love with others and not hold them to yourselves like a slave. It means to help them and even when they do disapointing things, to see their core and not their misdeeds.

A mighty pain to love it is,
And 't is a pain that pain to miss;
But of all pains, the greatest pain
It is to love, but love in vain.
