No point in going to the cinema on a first date as you dont get the chance to talk. First dates are all about gettng to know each other and that doesnt involve sitting in silence for 90 minutes watching a film.
Restaurant or just a drink normally works for me.

It has been that long since I had a First Date cos I'm with my man 12 yrs. But I had a blind date just before I met him with a dude called Lappy Lugs (the clue is in the name) (disaster). Anyway we went 10 pin bowling and then called into kentucky on the way back to get a taxi. It helps to break the ice playing bowling.

(*lol*) I usually wonder why the heck I'm not at home with my feet up in my comfy grubby clothes with the dogs.
Usually it ends up being a restaurant. I suppose it gives everyone the opportunity to make an impression and have a conversation.
Personally, I'd rather do something like go to a museum or an art gallery. Something where I'm up and moving.

Not a great answer, I know, but I've taken a few first dates out on pub-crawls...
And what a disaster.
You say the wrong things, do the wrong things, and EVEN IF you wake up together in the morning, you don't remember a whole lot.
But listen to the people saying do something a LITTLE different for a change.
Don't mess it up like I used to...LOL.

I can't remember it's been years since I've been on a first date. I would probably go for dinner or bowling somewhere you can talk to get to know them. So you can figure out if you want a second date.

I love to go to a restaurant. It gives you time to get to know the other person as you talk over a meal. Chewing a mouthful of food also gives you a moment to compose your thoughts and keep conversation flowing. (After you 've swallowed obviously otherwise you look like an ill mannered slob).
Movies are fun too but they dont encourage getting to know the person as well.
A walk in the park, a picnic and a day at the beach are all great ways to get to know someone and have fun too!

What do the two of you have in common? Same taste in films? Cinema. Both like same kind of food? Restaurant. Got a hobby in common? Go do it. Like the same kind of music? Go to a pub where they have live music. If you're doing something you both enjoy, it's bound to go well and be far less awkward.
Hope it goes well!

Depends on what both of us into. It might be a restaurant or a cinema or anything we share an interest in.

Have a quiet drink, and get to know each other.
Thr dinner and other stuff comes later, if you both feel like it. And I don't mean later that night.
