Wind mills and hydroelectric dams. It all comes from the heat energy from the sun. The sun evaporates water in the oceans, the clouds drift over mountains and come down as rain. The water runs down through rivers to the dam. It then goes through the dam and turns the turbine, generating electricity. The sun heats different areas differently. Warm air tends to rise. This action causes wind. The wind turns the blades of the wind mill generating electricity.

You make use of the law of physics that states, 'for each action there is an equal and opposite reaction.'. Simply put, the kinetic energy created by the movement of air (wind) and the flowing of water (rivers, waves, etc.) have great amounts of energy and momentum to drive both of earth's elements. We do not use wind as energy as wind is the description of the movement of AIR. We borrow energy from the movement of air through either turbines or in earlier cases, through the use of vanes. (like on the Old Dutch chip bags, lol). By placing turbines or other propellor type generators in front of these movements, we can capture their momentum and transfer the energy into electrical energy through the use of magnets and clever wiring.
I do not want to get too much further into this as it enters another area of physics and electrical engineering. Simply put, we are capturing the kinetic energy of AIR and WATER that it moving in order to transfer said energy to electricity.
They are reusable because we do not normally consume either the AIR or the WATER in the process of energy transfer.

Wind or water is used to generate torque a turbine.... basically forming potentials in a generator (wind spins a fan, water moving down a stream moves the turbine much like a paddle steamer).... ahhh look up generators, and how the potential is created to form electricity then link it up with the motion of a fan moving through the force of wind or water.
Briefly, two magnets rotate around each other and you know how there is that opposing force in magets? Well that is what generates the electricity... now imagine that the wind or water turbine is attatched to these magnets and making them turn around one another. Thats what creates electricity... its more complicated than that.... but its something to work on. Goodluck

Solar energy and gravitaion field of moon cause the wind/ water movement(sea current/tide).These are alternative reusable source of energy.
The potential energy of water at dam is converted to kinetic energy while flowing from higher elevation to lower elevation thru penstock . Hydraulic turbne-generator sets convert the kinetic energy to electrical energy.
Kinetic energy of wind is converted to electrical energy by wind mill( propellar turbine driven generator).

The uneven temperatures caused by the heating of the sun result in air of varying densities and then wind, wind moves turbines which in in turn can generate electricity. The same goes for water, sun heats the earth, water is evaporated, cools, rains, collects in streams and rivers to head back to ocean. The water's moving, it moves turbines which in in turn can generate electricity. Or you can burn coal or other fossil fuels which is most common. This is old solar energy collected by prehistoric plants, burn it, produce pollution and steam, steam boils off, moves turbines which in in turn can generate electricity.
