So far, he has called my employers to check if I am working there, has done numerous background checks to see if I have been charged with anything, has asked friends to follow me...
I am constantly hearing accusations about what he THINKS I am doing, though none of it is true. He has subpoena'd everyone from my boss to my loan companies, anything to find dirt.
Where can I get a line drawn? We've been divorced for 5 years, and he's even remarried! Crininal checks? Calling my work? Is that invasion of privacy?

this is harrassment and you need to speak with a lawyer to see what can be done.
what is it that he will gain if he does find some "dirt" that he is looking for? If you've been divorced for 5 years, it was finalized that long ago right? It is none of his business what you are doing.
unless there are children involved and he is trying to gain an advantage on you when it comes to custody....
but it is still harrassment.

Yes. I realise this sounds quite judgemental and I don't know both sides of the story, but he is making the same maneouvers as a stalker - get a court order and see that it's enforced.
Despite your divorce, he is still trying to exercise contol over you, you must stop this NOW! I'm sure you can get a lawyer or can get help at any local police station - celebrities aren't the only ones made to feel insecure by this sort of perverse, anti-social behaviour
Best of luck

This man is stalking you. Next time you talk to him, make sure his new wife and one of your friends or relatives is there so you have witnesses and tell him very loudly and sternly, "So-and-so, we have been divorced five years now. My life and how I lead it is no longer any of your business, and if you don't stop checking up on me I will get the police involved." If he still won't stop harassing you, go to the police and file for a restraining order, and seek legal advice.

yes it is file charges against him . that is the biggest invasion of privacy and it is against the law . I would take him to court so fast it would make his head spin . I would speak with his wife too and warn her that the same thing could happen to her . Although who knows he could be obbessed with you and wants to know what is going on in your life 100% of the time .Which on the other hand is scary . Please be carefull but do something quick or you will be living the rest of your life this way . good luck .

He has actually done nothing illegal. However is also sounds like he is harassing you. I would see if you could charge him with harassment by talking to a lawyer..or at least tell him you are. That may scare him off a little.

He sounds obsessed!! Is he trying to get custody of your children?? If so, he is digging hard because he is coming up empty. And your attorney should grill him hard on his harrassment into your personal affairs.
