A lot of the people I know have birthdays in May to September. Mine is in June too.

My theory is that during the those cold winter months (in the UK) people tend to cuddle up more and so the majority of people are conceived during this time and therefore born in teh summer.

What do you think?

I like what ginger1 said - it's interesting to see that we still have such primal instincts.

I pretty much agree with your theory...That's the best time to get "close". Share some body heat...besides in the summer it's so danged hot, all the touching and snuggling can get a bit uncomfortable...

Cause we were more relaxed and up for it while on holiday.A natural selection time to conceive so that the baby is born in the better weather when food is available and has put on weight and developed before the colder winter months. This pattern was determined long before the days of houses with central heating etc. and with supermarkets down he road. It's a primeval instinct. It would indicate that a lot of babies were conceived in the autumn,August,September which are both holiday months , The cuddling up in cold weather theory would result in autumn born babies of which no doubt there are many.

I think u are a romantic with the thoughts of people cuddling up together, My theory is the women plan the pregnancies so their maternity leave falls in the warmer months
*sun bathe
*summer clothes are cuter than winter clothes (for baby and mum)
*push the pram in sunny weather
*stop off at beer gardens.

All great reasons for a summer baby, wouldn't you say.

Well if you were born in May you were conceived in August so you theory is a little off. I recon its Summer loving! Hot sunny days. Drunken playful nights... One of my children was born in September and was conceived on a cold December night. lol

It's the natural order of things - same as bunnies and other animals having young in the spring. Electricity has changed that a bit as we can mate all year long, but there are still a lot of warm weather babies for exactly the reason you figured.
