You definately are infested even if you have only seen one. Try getting up with a flash light in the middle of the night and you will probably see how many you do have. A good way to control them is to go to a Chinese store and they have a chalk that is very reasonable and just chalk all around your front door and anywhere in your kitchen and bathroom especially under the sinks. They will not come in accross this chalk line. Good luck.

Getting rid of roaches needs to be a whole building project. I lived in an apartment in Maryland and fought them for months. Finally the management organized a whole building treatment. The exterminator found a nest under another apartments frig that he said had to be 15 years old. Many times they enter the building in boxes and appliances that are moved in.

Once you have one roach you will have more from where that one came from yes, in order to exterminate these pest cheaply and do it yourself is to use Boric acid and sugar mixed place this mixture on a jar lid or some flat lid and place it behind things such as your oven in cupboards and behind appliances and near your baseboards and anywhere you have trash, this will cause the roaches to dry up and die, then you must vacuum thoroughly around your apartment as the roaches can lay eggs and they will hatch soon, all furniture must be vacuumed thoroughly and sprinkled with twenty mule team borax, you can also apply that to the carpet to dry up the roaches and their eggs, Baking soda also works well, never place any of these formulas near pets or children as they can be toxic if ingested. Also you must clean counter tops and shelves and your floors with one cup of White Vinegar to clean and disinfect those areas after roaches have entered your home, Vinegar is touted as being the best disinfectant in the world and is safe to use on all surfaces can be used as a all purpose cleaner when diluted and even undiluted, you home will be clean and fresh and disinfected and vinegar is inexpensive, make sure you remove any trash sitting around and remove newspapers as well, and don't leave crumbs from food, that will lure roaches. Make sure you mix equal parts of Boric acid and sugar when making that formula. Good Luck !

ha-no way. roaches can come from anywhere, even 5 star hotels that ive stayed at had roaches, coz roches can sometimes climb up and exit the drain of the bathroom and sinks and kitchens. also they can come through windows. best to be safe and spray where you might think is infected with a little mortein. but dont bomb the place, as it is very expensive, and it might be a one off thing.

I have heard that for ever roach you see there are a 100 you don't. You might not need to bomb, just put down some of those raid things.

one roach is not an indication that your infested, but it will be if you don't take care of it...would not be easy if you live in an apartment building since some of this roaches comes from your neighbor...

You need to talk to the apartment manager so they can spray the whole building. Doing just you're apt. is not going to do any good.

Boric Acid works on keeping them away. Keep it away from pets if you have any.
