I think you have to do a re-test when you are 80 years old.

I also think that at the age of 70 you need a doc's saying your fit to continue to drive.

I THINK this, not 100% sure.

UK btw. ;)

No you do not have to take a driving test.
Assuming you are in generally good health your driving licence takes you up to the age of 70. You will get a form to fill in asking about you heath, particularly your eyesight, and if everything OK you get a new licence for a few years. If you have any problems with your health then your Doctor may be asked to complete part of the application form.

So nothing to worry about really, just keep yourself out of trouble and everything should be OK. Enjoy your driving.

No. You have to make a statement about your health and any disabilities that might affect your driving. You have to confirm that you can conform to the eyesight requirements. It is a criminal offence to give incorrect information or to omit something that is relevant. At 70 you are issued with a new licence and this has to be renewed every three years. It does not cost anything and each renewal is again your confirmation that you are fit to drive. There are no tests or medicals. I am nearly 76 and have just renewed my licence for aother 3 years.l.
