i'm in the same boat. i was sick, woke up at 12:30. went to work and had a busy day. also have finals that i've been studying for...just doing all but one thing...sleeping. grrrrrr....not even sociology put me to sleep...this must be serious. lol

Girl, I'm right there with you! It's 4:07 and I can't go to sleep at all. I have the tv on and was hoping that the computer would make me sleepy...nothing works. Maybe you could open a book and start reading, that might put you to sleep! I'm sorry...I know how annoying this is!!!

I also suffer for sleeping difficulty the most comon reason is you are not using up all or enough of your energy in the day to be tired. If you gym in the evening your body remains hyped up and the body is unable to fall asleep. If its due to you being sick go to your local phamacy and get a packet of sleeping tabs till it passes if it continouse for more than 7 days go see a doctor!

Maybe u should think of listening to some soothing music such as jazz or sentimental love songs. It is good as it relaxes your mind and give you peace. Besides that, sweating all out also does help including jogging or even brisk walking. Lastly, try adjusting your bedroom to a more comfortable configuration, remove all the unwanted junk and make sure your pillow is of good quality (try considering down feathers pillow) :-))

Go to the fridge. Open it. Look for some milk. Drink from the carton. Go back to your bed. Lay in your bed. Hug a pillow. Close your eyes. Imagine standing in a pasture with 100 cows. Go to each cow. Open your mouth and breath on the cow... state "Does this smell like your milk?" keep doing this until you find the cows milk you drank... I guarantee you won't get far before you fall asleep.... good luck.

girl, ur lucky you can't sleep.. we should switch coz i have a hard time staying up here at work.. u said ur sick? what kind? did u take ur medications? coz u know, some medications will make you sleepy, some keeps u up... so read you labels...

welcome to insomniacs annonymous....pull up a chair and get a grip, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
It's not uncommon to suffer sleep disturbance when you are ill. I suggest you try your best to stay awake all day so you can sleep tomorrow night.
