I believe in extraterrestrial intelligence. If you think about the millions of stars out there and the billions of planets out there, there has to be another planet that is the right distance from its star to support life. The odds are in favor of their being life elsewhere in the universe.

I don't know where the universe ends, if it does or what might be beyond it, but would be great to find out. I have often had those long drawn out discussions with my friends who are schooled in physics and such things, but we never really come up with any definite answers of course. It always seems to become a faith argument. Where did it all start? When did it start? What was here before that? etc..

Good question.

Those are all good questions, the problem is no one really knows for sure. As for is the universe infinite, check out everythingforever.com, it has some pretty good ideas. As for aliens, statistically speaking the chance of there being life in the universe is almost 100%, just based on the size of our universe, although that life may not be intelligent. In my opinion there would be many past civilizations and current ones, but due to the extreme distances of the universe, we will probably never communicate with them.

God told the apostles only He Knows when Time or (Death) will come: I accept this as Him saying He also knows He knows when time started. IE: the Universe, and, the world, as we know it. And, only He will know when it will end.
The Universe is infinite. When they finally got the Hubble going again, it saw back into "almost" the beginning of time. I thought that was sad, "almost", it would have made a mystery solved for us, no more mystery's.
It would be like saying, there are no aliens and we can now prove it. Or now we know who the aliens are. Do you know what I mean. Or, now we can talk with the "other side" and know what death is. No more mysteries. How sad.

I would rather have some mysteries to ponder over, why is the grass green, why is the sky blue. Although I do know, I'd rather let my little boy intelligence run wild and not now for now. That's my explanation.

One of the most recent theories suggests that there is a "bulk" filled with membranes that are moving within the bulk, but in only extremely rare occasions do the membranes ('branes) touch each other.

(imagine a loaf of bread with slices separated by air - now think of this as being infinitely large)

Is the universe infinite? we don't know
Are there other living beings? probably
Do aliens have their own civilization? That may be hard to define. Extraterrestrial life may not be humanoid or exist as we know life to exist on the earth.

Sixty or Seventy years ago people would have said that there is nothing beyond our galaxy but its starting to look more and more like it. I myself believe there is, I mean we havent even been able to reach the bottom of the deepest parts of the ocean yet and when we do keep getting further and further slowly we are finding new species of life. Is it really so hard to believe that there are other beings in the universe besides ourselves, they dont even have to be a different species, there could be other humans. It is highly improbable that there is just a vast infinite space with nothing to occupy it. Everytime we have thought that we find some semblence of life even if they are micro organisms. It will always be a debate until we actually get out of our galaxy but there is evidence to support both sides.
