Absolutely.......I think it is time the masses understand that cricket is just a game......and winning or losing is a part of it. Once the world cup is lost, there is no point in burning effigies or pelting stones etc...that won't give us a second shot at the title.
Instead, we should let them think as to what went wrong, and try and rectify the situation. By reacting in such a manner, all we do is show how barbaric we are, instead of lending support to cricketers in these hard times. I think the reactions of the masses portray a very bad picture of a true sports fan, and this is not good for the game in the country.

Throwing stones at players houses? Burning effigies in the streets? Threatening the lives of players and their families because of lost matches? Overreaction? No, no, no, how could that be overreacting? It's perfectly reasonable to be apoplectic with rage when someone you don't know loses a sporting contest that you yourself didn't have the skill or inclination to participate in at the highest level. My goodness the only reaction possible to such affairs is one of complete over-the-top lunacy, it is cricket after all.

Any nation will over-react when it comes to their number one national sport, so yes they most likely do, but they are not alone...South Africa over-reacts to their cricket, rugby and soccer teams performances, I think its natural....don't worry too much
