A 20 gallon would be good, but mostly because of all the stuff they need. You should have two water dishes, one with freshwater, one with saltwater, and deep enough for them to soak in. They like a place to hide during the day, sand or coconut fiber deep enough to burrow into so they're completely covered, a food dish, and something to climb on. Plus they should have extra shells for when they molt. Your hermits may be small now, but the can get several inches in size if you take good care of them.

Depending how big the crabs are, but if they are only ones from the pet shop ,about an inch in diameter then a tank of about 10-20 litres should last them a very long time. They also need bigger shells in the tank to move into as they grow. They also need water but mostly rocks and coarse sand to climb on.

I've never had hermit crabs. But I found this web page for you to check out. Its says a 10 gallon. Big enough to hold your pets, food, water, extra shells, and climbing toys. Also room to roam. Any way check out the link that I posted to you. Hope it helps. Good Luck with your Hermit crabs. Wendi
