Absolutely. A valid 3rd or even 4Th option. Running truly on the issues and the needs of the country . Someone who has a fair chance at the office. But, how do we go about making that happen? All that usually happens is we get someone that runs, gets enough vote to split the party and makes it impossible to have an even race. Yes I think the parties as we know them need to be abolished and we need to start over. A political revolution of a sorts. Excellent question.

No the immigration debate is denying a 150 year old problem . Ike and Hoover deported them years ago they came back. I agree with big business acting like they need goverment dole to be succesful, but I also think stronger labor laws would probadly reduce a lot of illegal enteries. Still, some illegals came over when they were 2 years old with thier parents, and speak better English than people who came legally. People married legal residents , but the wife or husband is not legal deportation by force will not happen, and immigration is the tipping point which the goverment actually rewrites immigration law to elinimate citizenship by birthright, and changing immigration polices to reflect market supply and demand, but also give more rights to labor unions to organized too. The enforcement cost to verfily people are legally allowed to work here will cost more than its worth, and Mexico needs to reform the economy, and pointless to talk immigration reform if mexico wont reform the economy because fences can be tricked, jump, dug under. Republican party knows if it does nothing with immigration a more liberal immigration bill could be result. Take out the emotional context of the debate and look at how the Mexico and US economy are set up its oblivous that if Mexican economy collaspes will feel the effects worse than we do now. Immigration reform needs to be corperative effort between Mexico or the Untied State, or were repeating anmesty, and deport game over and over like we have for hte last 120 years.

You are absolutely right about the need for a serious third political party. Both the democrats and republicans have abandoned the American people and if we continue to put
these people back in office because we "have no choice", then we are simply allowing this process to continue. There
will never be change as long as the same people have power election after election.

I completely and totally agree and am disgusted with the current state of our political system which is beholden more to corporations rather than the American people. I'm also disappointed with the Democrats refusing to pull funding for the war though they have had a clear mandate from the American people to do so. We do need another party but I'm not sure how we're going to keep greed and corruption out of it either. Maybe if the members are rich enough, like Bloomberg they'll have no need to cave to corporations. On the other hand, Bush and Cheney were already rich when they took office and look who pulls their strings. Very disillusioned!

I think for the first time in a long time a third party might be in the running for presidency. Not just someone to take the votes away from the other party. Amen it's long over due.

Oh my gosh, if only we could win against either party. But allot of people think they have to vote Republican or Democrat so as not to make the worst one win. Like if you really hated the Republican and the Democrat runner wasn't far behind. Then if you used your vote to vote an independent, the Republican might win. So it is better to vote for the Democrat than take that chance.

Yes, but adding a third or fourth party would be just adding two more parties to the pockets of big business. You can add as many partys as you like, but that does not mean they will get anywhere. It is BIG MONEY that talks, and always will.
This is very very sad but true.

We already have other parties, they just aren't very large
I disagree with your contention about "most appear to be in the pocket of Big Business". On the contrary, many liberal politicians are anti-business and favor more regulation, more taxes and are themselves in bed with Big Labor.

Most definitely!
I just wish the NRA would nominate a slate of candidates in every state.
If 80 Million gunowners voted together, we could accomplish some things.
