The Law Society website will confirm if such a firm exists:
http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/findasolicitor.law
It is a criminal offence in England for a firm to represent themselves as solicitors when they are not so if this firm is bogus your should report them to the Law Society.
It is strange that a solicitor would indicate that he is a JP (Justice of the Peace), an appointment which gives no entitlement to practice law but just to sit as a lay magistrate.
The terminology 'Legal Solicitors & Advocate' is very unusual in England and one would expect a legitimate firm of solicitors to have its own domain rather than the email address that you have displayed.

If they are asking you to help them transfer money, or act as a forwarding agent for checks, you can be sure that he is a criminal.
Am I correct in assuming Mr. Biko is in an African country, perhaps Nigeria, or Cote d'Ivorie?

if this is about a foreign lottery or an inheritance its a scam, they set up an email account purporting to be an attorney in an attempt to extract payments. ive just had a look at the www.gawab.com website and its a free email provider, whereas an attorney would have a legal company email address so I would be inclined to say they arent an attorney

Ask to see his degree, maybe proof of bar exam, and state license. You can contact the state attornies office and have him run. At least that is what I would probably do.

You can contact your local Bar Association office and ask. If you are in California, you can search at http://members.calbar.ca.gov/search/member.aspx
