It isn't necessarily; most little kids think its gross. The only danger is they may try to mimic what they have seen on T.V. with a playmate, which may freak out the parents.

My son still fast-forwards through any smootching scenes in a rented DVD and he is 13 and comments all the time about girls he sees at the mall or stores being "hot", but still grossed out by on screen "old" people smootching on screen.

Monkey see, monkey do.

Children are impressionable and cannot be expected to tell what's appropriate, what's acceptable. So as a rule, it is not advisable. Having said this, I feel it is equally bad (if not worse) for little kids to watch violence in movies.

These days, societies are perverted; children watch movie, tv violence and kissing is censored by the censorship board - this is the moral guideline in conservative / religious countries. It's like telling children "killing is acceptable" and "kissing is forbidden."

Other than any uncomfortable questions you may get from them watching "kissing scenes"- I don't think it's so bad...

In fact, by covering their eyes (I know people who actually do stuff like that) or forbidding such scenes in the house, you'll actually be bringing their attention to it rather than away from it!

It is not bad at all, if it is a simple kiss. Sure they should not watch hardcore sex scenes, as this may disorient them since they don't have a clear opinion on sex.

because children tend to mimic others on tv and movies. parents fear that if their children see people kissing constantly theyll think its okay to kiss others. the problem with this is that children have no boundaries and as they get older kissing becomes the gateway to more physical contact with other people.

we dont explain to kids the purpose of doing it. We keep them away from things that we think are bad. We dont let them grow and understand things as they are to be understood and done.

In society, it is viewed that they are not mature enough. Similarly, as it is viewed that people under the age of 18 are not mature enough to watch porn.
