Just look our for the halal cerified sign at the stalls. Muslim friends i have always buy from muslim stalls because it's the safest bet. Non - muslim stalls may use lard in their dishes so yes just buy from muslim stalls with the sign.

Yes and No.
No. The majority of food served in Singapore is NOT Halal.
BUT yes, a lot of the food served IS Halal. Pretty much all the fast food resturants are Halal. And about 10-20% of the stalls in a hawker center (food court) serves Halal.
If you are not sure.. the Halal symbol is usually displayed on the door of the resturant or on the front of the stall.
If they have the symbol, it means they comply to ALL the requirements, not just "no pork products".

Most of the food courts and coffee shops in the neighbourhoods are not Halal. But there would be some stalls inside there sells Malay/Indian Muslim food which are Halal certified. In Singapore, you can easily find places that have Halal food so dun worry. Now there are food courts that are Halal certified like Banquet. Just look out for the Halal certified logo outside the restaurants/cafe. :)

Singapore is a multi-racial and multi-cultural country. As such, the food tastes of people are easily accommodated. Although not everywhere serves non-halal food, there are nonetheless sufficient places whether in restaurants, food courts, or hawker centres where you can have a hearty halal meal.
