Ok I want to get a mobile internet card, but see I don't know anything about them (have been wired this long).
Well I was at the cingular store today and saw a card for 50$ a month?
how fast are they and who has the fastest?
I've had cable for a while and hate a slow connection, can't stand it. and I live in NYC so the network coverage should not be a problem. And last, do they come like cell phone plans or are the any other companies out there?

I think you will find the only plans at the present that are national will be with ATT (cingular), T-Mobile, etc. Most are around 512K which isn't too bad in most cases. It wont match DSL or Cable but then it doesn't need a wire.

Most will be around 50-70 a month.

The other option is just go Wifi, there are plenty of public-access points (McDonalds, Starbucks, Borders, Hotels etc) They will not work in as many places as your true mobile card since they have much less "open" coverage areas. Adding a wireless router to your home system lets you connect there also. Speeds are generally in the 1.5 MB range.
