Don't listen to those people. You can name your baby whatever you want, and believe me I've heard a lot worse. I know the name Anatol (spelled Anatole) is one of the characters in my favorite book "The Poisonwood Bible." Maybe that's why I like it, or at least don't hate it. This is your child, if you love the name then go for it.

It's a great name if you want your child to be teased until he's an adult and has it changed. He'll be called anything from Geritol to Anus tall or Anastasia. Why would you do this to the poor kid? Life is tough enough without having to go through life with a name like that. Try Mike or Kevin or Matt. These whacked out names are so incredibly irritating and sound so stupid half the time. Pull a Paltrow and name your kid Table or Pen, or perhaps Coconut. You new-age parents really need to get a grip.

It's a perfectly lovely Russian name, but as you can see, your child will be mocked mercilessly by his ignorant American classmates. Maybe a more mainstream Russian name like Ivan with Anatol as a middle name?
Good luck!

When you are naming your child. You should think of all the the ways how the name can be made fun of.
Anal toy is the first thing that pops in my head and it does sound like a prescription.
"Ask your doctor if Anatol is right for you."

I don't care for it. It sounds like some sort of medication.
If you experience any of these symptoms, ask your doctor if Anatol is right for you...

It sounds like a drug that they would advertise on tv.
Sorry, just an honest answer.

Joshua and Joseph or Harry and Jacob. I prefer Joshua and Jacob tbh. Middle names- maybe Joshua James and Joseph Jeremiah?

1st I don't know if I'm pronouncing it right (anna-tole??)...
2nd If I did pronounce it right, then it sounds more like a girls name - a boy will be teased and will be called Anna
3rd sounds like a cough mint
sorry, can't say I like it, but it's your baby, and your choice.
