I know a hot shower or bath can quicken dilation and ease some pain..not sure about labor in general.

My wife used pregnancyweekly.com (or something similar) They have "chat" where you an talk to other people at your same stage about things. A support group of sorts.

I'm not currently on my messenger but you are more than welcome to email me if you need anything. Hot water does not bring on labor. The only things that have been truly known to help that are completely safe are walking and having sexual intercourse. The best part about these two things is that as long as you have a healthy normal pregnancy you can do both of these things safely and it isn't going to induce you before your body is ready. Please be safe when trying to bring on labor because some of the options that are out there can cause major problems with you and with your baby.

Well I have plenty of that...experience I mean. Ask yahoo to put your E-mail on my message and I will respond to you....do not want to leave my E-mail address on here.

No...you can take a hot shower safely....but in the last days of your pregnancy, stay away from hot baths just for safety's sake.

I was pregnant at a young age the first time...didn't have a clue about anything to do with being pregnant. Will answer any questions that might help.......probably know just where you are at right now.....

A hot shower might feel good and relieve backaches but it won't bring on labor unless the labor is already getting ready to start.

The best thing to do is refer to you obstrician. Every doctor has their own opinion about hot showers and pregnancy. Since each woman reacts differently to various situations in pregnancy consult your physician before attempting anything that you feel would be risky to your pregnancy.

No a hot shower can't bring on labor, but it certainly feels good.

If you have questions about your pregnancy, there are many good books that you can reference at your local library...also, you shouldn't fear talking to your OBGN or group about any issues or asking them to recommend a reference.
