Actually, it's called Westernization.
What happens is developing countries try to industrialized or modernize such as the west has done. The western civilizations, expecting big profit, extend a hand, usually end up in them having a foreign-run plantation or industry.
Although by opening up new businesses in "worse-off" areas, bringing an up-rising economy and supplying jobs, the developing nations often end up economically dependent upon places like America and Europe. Also, the jobs that they offer bring child-labor and harsh working conditions.
How do we fix this?
I have no idea.
But, in short, that's why we have a McDonalds in Austrailia and other areas.

Yeah, It can be a good thing on one hand but on the other no. It is good that more countries are treating woman and children better - by coming up with child protection laws and regulations. Also, giving people jobs, etc. But, it is taking away the culture and traditions. I don't want to go to Honduras or another place and see the same things I see here. Think about it.

America is commercialized, and business people like to make money, and now the world is an open market. Businesses have the money to invest in other countries, and other countries are intrigued by Americans. But the world is becoming commercialized, and they are embracing it.

Yes, but it is not because of what we or America is, it is the Global Economy and what America brings to it. Countries can try to be original, but in the end it makes more sense to copy those who have already succeed. Why reinvent the wheel? It is better to catch up, and try to revolutionize what you can.

Yeah and its been that way for over 200years. I guess we are doing something right. I always find it interesting that foreign countries will accept our money (my money, I work hard for those taxes)but yet demonize us at every turn. And whats with the immigrants, if you hate us so much, then what are you doing in my Walmart?
