The Studebaker (Avanti) museum is on Chapin St and shares a building with the Northern Indiana Center for History.

The Potowatomi Zoo is a very good zoo for a city this size. It is compact, but has several animals you won't see everywhere.
Downtown there is the College Football Hall of Fame.
The East Race Waterway runs alongside the St Joe river between Jefferson and Niles Aves. Most warm days there are kayakers practicing- they can be fun to watch.
In summer, they have concerts on the island behind the Century Center on Friday nights. Be careful in downtown SB after dark.
Notre Dame has a pretty campus to walk around. The students have just left, so it will be pretty quiet.

They used to make the Avanti cars there. And they must have some care of a museum dedicated to car construction. Why not contact the chamber of commerce to see if there's an interesting event.
