The Spurs are passing the ball so well on the offensive end right now, and hitting such a high percentage of there shots. Utah could still make a series of this because they are a terrific home team (third best in the league in the regular season, and undefeated at home in the playoffs 6 - 0), but i'm not sure anybody can beat this team right now. I couldn't see Cleveland competing with this team any better then the Jazz, and the Spurs have a much better bench then Detroit, not to mention home court advantage against whoever they face for the rest of the playoffs. It sure looks like the fourth title in the Duncan era is definitely within reach.

I would like the Pistons chances better if they had homecourt in the Finals, but they don't, and that could end up playing the difference, because the Spurs will get the benefit of the doubt on the calls from the refs at home.

The Spurs are probably a bit favored over Detroit, but very weird things have happened in some recent finals. When the Lakers played Detroit, every analyst was talking about "how can Detroit win at least 1 game". Turned out the Lakers only won one game. Last year, most people favored Dallas. Then one quarter away from being up 3-0, they went on to blow 4 games in a row. Finals can be very unpredictable.

We saw Spurs play Detroit 2 years ago and it was a ridicuously close matchup; the teams were tied at the top of the 4th quarter of the 7th game. What will be interesting to see is this new Detroit team with Flip Saunders and Chris Webber and how it stacks up differently against basically the same Spurs lineup as last time.

Homecourt advantage is a bit controversial in the finals, where instead of 2-2-1-1-1 format, they switch it to 2-3-2, partially so that the huge media contingent doesn't have to move back and forth so much. Some people feel that this format actually favors the team that doesn't start on its homecourt, because they get to play 3 games at home in a row. Detroit won all 3 against the Lakers and Miami won all 3 against Dallas. So if the teams hold serve, after 5 games the team without homecourt advantage actually is up 3-2.

I think the Spurs are the favorites, but they are not invincible from being upset by Detroit. We'll have to see what happens.

Detroit could, they're a championship team themselves and the Spurs come out flat once every few games- that could result in a loss against Detroit, whereas against Utah it just means they don't hold onto the big lead and win by a little. And when the Spurs aren't hitting their free throws- yikes!!!

Now when the Spurs are hitting on all cylinders and guys like Finley and Barry are scoring and Bowen is hot from 3-point range, no way. Say goodnight, gracie.

So I think they could be beaten, but I wouldn't bet on that :)

Detroit will take it...lets those spurs get all cocky...thinking that no one can beat them.. since they have beaten the pistons before..they wont worry to much.... we will come in under the radar...show them what a good team is...
they will not beat us again....Unless the Spurs go into their baby mode and start knocked people across the floor... or tripping or kicking hamstrings... then the pistons will sick dale Davis and Max
on them and knock some heads...

we don't need no stinkin home court advantage we will just take it from them

but first things first cav's in 6....

Yes but if the Spurs play well in the rest of this series and the next then no. The pistons are going to be tough as would The Cavs.

Yes, Detroit can, unless the Spurs get the kind of calls they got in Game 7 of the 2005 finals.

Ya no one left in the playoffs can beat them. Dallas would may have beaten them or at least put up a fight if they could beat golden state. Lets face it. The Jazz would have lost to the mavericks if they played each other in the playoffs
