I have tried to connect the VCR video output as out and the DVD video intput as in. The screen on the TV is blank and then when I take out the video cable out of the input from the DVD and put it in as DVD output I get a picture. Please someone help cause I want to copy some VHS tapes onto my recordable DVD

VCR out---> DVD-R In
This brings the VCR signal to the DVD
Now you need to see what you are doing, so
DVD-R out --> TV In

You need to set the DVD-R to the correct input (Line 1, Line 2, etc.) and the TV to the correct input.

Always record at the BEST possible setting, otherwise your recordings will look pretty bad when a few years from now you switch to an HDTV.

Hi Vicky,

Connect VCR output to DVD input

Connect DVD Input To TV

Set TV to where you normally view your tapes.
