Thanks for the answers to my last question. I agree that 939 is becoming dated. But if I was to change out the board, what core 2 duo would you recommend for under $200 (never mind the cost of the board)? I might be able to go up an extra 20 or so if needed.

This is a pretty simple question, which is why it is surprising the first guy blew it. It is the E6420, which is about $190, the E6320 is about $170, but slower. If you can get up to about $225, you can get the E6600, faster still.

E6320; it's basically a e6300 with 4 MB cache, which means it just needs overclocking to reach X6800 speeds.

If you don't have good RAM but want to overclock your CPU to its limits, get a 4300.

If you don't overclock, then stick with a e6320.
