I don't know your sources but the 'Butter Fly' effect is genuine and in fact is a scientific term. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect

My interpretation is actions with seemingly small influence can in fact create response out of proportion of the original effort.

In relationships, a small gesture can generate great appreciation. In personal performance, taking that first step, even though we don't want to, may create a momentum that propels us through great accomplishments.
