I like the fact that for the last 224 years, this country has been the bright shining beacon of Liberety to the entire world.
We were the first to establish a Nation based on the will of the people, and governed by the consent of the people.
The best thing about the United States is that our Constitution has a Bill of Rights. These are not rights granted by the government or the Constitution. They are a stated recognition of God given rights that every man possesses and that the Government may not infringe.
Sure there are problems, always have been, and always will be. But we, as a Nation make an effort to achieve an ideal. We generally fall short, sometimes embarassingly short, but we make an effort. We don't accept business as usual.
Sadly, there are lots of people who want to destroy the individual Freedoms upon which our Nation and its Society were founded. They want us to surrender personal freedom in exchange for the illusion of security. they forget the words of Benjamin Franklin
"They who would surrender a little essential Freedom for Safety deserve neither."
In the immortal words of Commodore Stephen Decatur "I give you the United States of America, my Nation, may she never be wrong. But right or wrong, my Nation."

I am an asian-american. I love this country. I was the first born here in the U.S. . I receive pics of my distant relatives in the Phillipines and thank my parents that they wanted something better for us. I know one things for sure, if I was raised in the Phillipines, I wouldn't be answering this question right now. None of my family over there can afford it. Let alone afford a computer. Thanks to the U.S.A., my family here can send my family over there money when they need it.

I like the freedom of being able to be what I want to be and say what I want to say, until I get laid off because of outsourcing or sued because my opinion has offended someones delicate sensibilities.

Same I gotta go w/ freedom. I love being free to do whatever I want, and nobody can tell me I'm wrong. I'm allowed to think whatever I want, say (almost) whatever I want, and be whoever I want. God bless the USA!

I love the freedoms that we have here. And I love that for all the problems we have, we are still a beacon of freedom for the world!
