i have a 1926 Chevy truck and it came without a bed. What would be the best way to replace a new metal one that I bought. Replacement came without instructions.

I have a 1928 Chevy . often they were not set up on a standard bolt pattern but individually drilled .
set the bed on the frame and mark the bolt locations and go from there.
There were as best I can tell 7 differant beds available .plus the flat beds

When you say replace, perhaps you mean install. I would look at the frame and see where any bolt holes would be and where the original bed had been attached. From that, I would mark the metal bed and drill holes, attach with carriage bolts and lock nuts.

You may very well have to drill your own holes in both the frame and the bed. If that's the case, besure not to drill a hole that hits any brake line, gas line.
