I'd say Pirates would make more money because the trailer looks better, but I'd see both just to be sure.

Pirates: At Worlds End is my bet that it will make more money. Why? Well, Transformers only appeals to guys and very small population of girls (maybe). Pirates appeals to all age groups and all males and females. Pirates is also a trilogy and might I add that the previous two movies were such a big hit that the third (i'm sure) will be a big hit too.

I'm gonna go see Transformers, and i've never seen Pirates 1, 2, or 3, and don't plan on it, but i'm sure that Pirates will own transformers in the box office.

I'd go with Transformers. There are a lot of transformer fans out there starting in like the 80s. Fans of all ages. Have you seen the trailer? Holy crap...that is something.
In most trilogies, the following movies start to get worse and worse, like Star Wars Episodes 1-3. Only a few managed to continue to be good like LOTR. I was pretty disappointed with the 2nd Pirates movie.

I would guess PotC will make the most money. It's part of a trilogoy and lots of people are fans of the first movie. And even if they didn't like the sequel, they'll be pissed that it didn't "end" and want to see the conclusion. Plus, it's got Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.

I think that Transformers will appeal mostly to 80's kids, and some guys, but a lot of people might not get it. Plus I haven't heard a lot of enthusiasm about it's release.

I will be seeing both, however! Good luck with the bet :)

Well it depends on if you are going with worldwide box office or just America. Worldwide I think Transformers has a chance, as it is very popular in Asia. Just America its definitly Pirates.

BTW this post is a little early since Transformers wont be out until July. Guess you gotta wait and see. Good Luck :0)

Don't be silly. Pirates will cream Transformers at the box office by at least 100 million.

NO IT ISN'T! (OK, i answered the question) So many people seem to live only in the immediate present and everything has to be "BEST EVER" - and don't think of the past and what may come in the future. The moment they don't like a movie, they right away say it is the "worst movie ever made". Give it another week when they go and see the next movie - they will say the same thing. (What ever happened the "the worst movie EVER!" last week?) I mean, I read this same question asked about Spiderman 3 being the "WORST MOVIE EVER" only three weeks ago. Can't we just go and enjoy a movie instead of expecting it to always be bigger and better than the previous one we saw and not whine about it unless it is truly enormously REALLY bad? (like...Plan 9 from outer space)

Pirates, most definitely. Everybody is going to see that, but i've only heard people who actually play with transformers wanting to go to that.
