Frank Morris and the Anglin Brothers are probably living in Brazil. Why didn't their bodies wash ashore? Did they make it to Angel Island? Why was one life jackets found and nothing else? After so many years, you'd think some word of their existence would've turned up by now.

I live right near Alcatraz and did when this happened, too (thought I was really young at the time). I know they did not drown. Thier bodies would have eventually washed to shore. If sharks had eaten them, some fisherman would have come across a body part...every season is dungeonous crab season in that area and they use nets. They would have scooped up a boot or an arm or maybe a head. I honestly think they got away. Just my opinion, of course.
Btw, It wasn't the Gatlin Bros. it was the Anglin Bros.

There were a number of escapes from Alcatraz over the years. Many of the escapees were recaptured.
The most successful escape was on 28 November 1918. Four prisoners had managed to escape with rafts. The authorities assumed they had drowned in San Francisco Bay, but they later appeared in Sutro Forest. One of them was recaptured.
As a Military Prison, documented are at least eighty (80) men had attempted to escape in twenty-nine (29) separate attempts; of those, sixty-two (62) were caught, one (1) may have drowned, and seventeen (17) were unknown.

Dunno..but I know there was a movie made about it called "Escape from Alcatraz". Perhaps you can look that up.

No one knows. They disappeared. The only thing that was found was the "boat" and a few personal items like an address book.

Gatlin bros. ? they never found them, or the bodies, it's kind of cool to think that they made it, I doubt that they did, that water NEVER warms up, even in summer, the currents are insane, and Great White sharks roam the Bay too, kicking and splashing at night will definately get their attention.

i dont think they ever found them they either drowned or escaped and are living somewhere no one really knows for sure

either escaped and lived
or escaped but drown out in that water.
no one knows for sure.
