Depends on who, what & where ... if this is, say, your mother and you're living at home, earphones & music should pretty much do the trick.
I suppose a therapist would urge you to talk it out with Mom, let her know she's bugging you, find out why she is, and try to come to some mutual understanding so that you'll both be happier. Or, you could just move out. ;-)

Do whatever it is to them that they're doing to you.
My son likes to repete himself over and over and over and it bugs the hell out of me....
so from time to time I give him some of his own medicine and I do the same to him - I do it in the car so he has no choice but to sit and take it lol

Well hon, I turn the tv up real loud to my favorite TV show, and then I turn on the fan too(ROFL) It blocks out the loud mouth behind the door, or the stupid bloke outside the window XD!!!!!!!!

lock them out and tell them you are trying to take a nap, thats what I do at my house, if you are in college you are pretty much just stuck with your room mate, tell them you need a little quiet time to think about homework or whatever. Or bug the sh t out of them!!!!! thats fun to do.
