By next summer you will be seeing at least $6 a gallon. America will approach Europe's gas prices...but not from taxes to be used for social services but by simple thievery.

Didn't anyone even wonder why Exxon has reported the highest profits of any company in US history? Is it any wonder that Exxon invested hundreds of millions in getting oil from the oil sands of Canada when the only way to make a profit is if the gas prices are very high? Strange that the gas prices went up right after they started to invest!

How can a company make historical profits if they claim the price is high because of cost? The INCREASE IN PROFITS is tremendous and happened only when the price was raised! DUH?!?! Get it?!?! Get an EDUCATION while you are at it.

Not if people will get it through their freaking skulls that a simply boycott of the major oil companies will force prices down!

The only reason oil companies report such earnings is because of the volume that they sell. I think that the government should be asked how much it earns in the taxes that they receive from us at the pump.
The earning percentage per gallon that the governement receives is probably tripled that of the oil companies. If gas goes up to $6/gallon, there is no-one more to blame than Washington.

Yes, I would mind. And we disagree about constitutes thievery.
I do not rank social services on some higher plane than jobs and profit.
There is a point of profit at which the government can step in and deem it to be price gouging. In that event, I have no problem with the government involvement. But not until price gouging is determined.

6 dolla a gallon gas is a good thing, then people will be forced to find alternative sources of energy and other technologies will become more economically feasible.
No one would buy a car that got less than 20 MPG. It would be tough but when we got through it, America would be a better place for it.

No one complains about banks and credit card companies. They make far more money than oil companies.
Other facts:
1) Illegal aliens cost taxpaying families around $1,500 extra in taxes each year.
2) High gas prices on cost families around $150 extra per car.

Hell, I mind paying $3.50 a gallon.
Demand should drop if gas gets much higher, but then again we have the soccer mom twats driving their minivans who need to take Lacey to karate practice, Cody to Gymboree, and Brittany to ballet all within 5 minutes of each other on different sides of town and still find time to stop at Starbucks to get a double latte to make their fat asses even wider.

Yeah, it could happen eventually. I keep hearing that some people will cut back on driving, but it never seems to happen. If people keep paying and driving the same amount, $6 seems quite possible.

If it comes to that, I will probably go into my garage and build me an engine that will run off another fuel source.
