I would make several test runs with differing shapes to see if the oven can keep an even enough heat. It's difficult to regulate the temperature well in a toaster oven, so it may be difficult to cook large or thick pieces. Keep the temperature on the lower side (20 degrees or so), and place the works well away from the heating elements or they may get overdone on the outside and be not set in the middle. If you cook objects which have small thin or hairlike projections, they may burn a bit. My guess is that even thickness pieces which aren't too thick/round can probably be done this way. I have done lots of Sculpey (I'm an art teacher) but have used a conventional oven. Check the label directions for the temperature and definitely do a test run or two. I suspect that you can get away with using this oven for smaller pieces. You might also wrap some in foil to keep them away from direct heat - it might work this way, as it does for roasts! Good luck and I hope this helps.

Yes you can, but i would keep an eye on it while it bakes. Try not to leave it in there as long because you cant control the temperature. Most toaster ovens can yes but dont use the lined metal rake to put the clay on or youll get lines. Put it on something smooth and flat

You don't need a kiln for sculpey. But the heat in a toaster oven is really concentrated, not allover like a regular oven. So your clay would be fried in spots and not cooked in others. At least you asked before you did it!

sure can, infact the company suggests you get an inexpensive toaster oven and just use it for sculpey, that way the fumes dont taint food, i dont do enough of it to really matter though. but im getting into it deaper, i want to get the beveled edge jewel cutter, a knife, and a bead mold kit tomorrow at joanns. good luck.

I have been crafting for many years. And I have seen on TV that they used a low temp. toaster oven. And had to be really careful not to burn it. But I only use the reg. oven. It cooks even & has low settings.
Good luck!

I have used my toaster oven for years with no problem. You just have to learn the time and temperature needed for your project, in your particular oven. They are now starting to market toaster ovens, just for crafts, as they now do with pasta machines. Experiment, you'll learn to adapt to your toaster oven.

I did some halloween things out of it last year and had no problems when I used my oven. I did keep a good eye on it, and will use it again next time I work with it.
