whener somebody makes an observation there is always somebody who denies it until they see some supporting statistics.

Why is that?
Statatistics don't even prove anything.

statistics are close resemblance of the truth or history. It is proven that by following the correct statistical methods, the result will always be same somewhat with the actual one.

Why use statistical data then, when it only mostly consider part of population or sample only. It is not maybe possible or practical to consider all, so you get a randomized sample from the population and analyzed. You will be amazed that the result of your sampling and the actual result by having all the data tabulated are the same ( + / - error margin) with the actual result.

Now come on, why ruin the fun when you can just play the game of "make up the statistic" and watch the majority of people not even try to search out it's blatant falseness.

Statistics are dangerous when they're used falsely or out of context and make the other look like they know what they're talking about. But any half-educated person looks at statistics with a critical eye.

Because statistics tells us a lot about certain theories in our environment. I have been taught statistic in my undergraduate studies being a Social Worker. There are thousands of variables that count in statistics and that can proof other variables and various outcome. It's just a very important way of measure things that scienstist are interested in.

What are you referring to? It depends on what the data is based on. Statistics are not definite numbers, but your question is kind of vague.
