Okay, it smells like bread...Really..but I cannot find what it might be to get rid of it whatever it is. I was thinking that maybe something fell under the stove or behind it so I checked everywhere and found nothing. I am a very clean person so this is baffling me. I am beginning to think that it is my imagination here. Do you think I am smelling mold or something?

Have you checked the drip pan under your refrigerator? That was always the culprit in our house.

Do you smell it only in your house? Sometimes when a mouse or something dies it may take on a not too foul odor before it begins to stink. Maybe that is what it is.
I do not think mold would smell like bread but, then again I don't think a dead mouse would either. If you smell bread and you do not live in an apartment where someone around you is baking bread, I too, am baffled. A yeasty smell is distinct.
Good luck I hope you find your answer.

Hmmm.... Check your GARBAGE DISPOSAL... sometimes if you don't use it right away after cleaning off a plate (and you forgot about) you might have some food down in there. Or it could just stink. Simply pour 1/2 cup bleach down in there, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with hot water for 30 seconds-1 minute. That'll kill the smell if this is the case. Good luck!

Mine always continued to get worse, the odor that is, then I would find a lost potato in the cabinet... I always check their first now.. The smell really does get bad... ( rotten potato )
I would also check out the grates under the stove burners
good luck

Check the drain in your shower it fills with hair and soap scum ect and really starts to stink kinda weird. But just unscrew the plate in the tub floor and most should be stuck to that. some stuff will also be on the screw plate about an inch down in the drain just reach in and grab it. sounds crazy but that was the problem when i couldnt find it. its from the stuff never being able to dry.

Adding to the water in the drip pan answer, maybe you should check your dishwasher or anywhere around water areas that could be leaking or flush your drains with a mixture of very hot water, vinegar, and baking soda. I spray a half and half mixture of bleach and water in my dishwaster before the starting it about once a week to kill bacteria.

Mold don't smell like bread, so that can't be it. I think maybe you have bread in your house.

I hope for you its not a leak inside your wall like me.
Make sure nothing is running.
Water, freg, Toilet, pump... Put your ear to the wall in the
area of the smell.

If it smells like bread maybe it is yeast, I don't know what yeast grows on, but that would be my first thought.

could be mold or mildew, did you check the plumbing trap in the basement, it might be clogged, and over flowing slightly.
