basic steps are to use a search engine
- google , yahoo , msn or a combo - dogpile
even though this is yahoo - try google first
www,google.com
put in your search terms
you can even ask the question. Someone else is bound to of asked the question
Usually you just use the first page of so of the many pages of results
go to these sites from number one on
read it .
look around for "links" or something similar
If it is a good site they most likely have done your homework for you already in finding the good sites for that
area or interest
thats it
if you cannot find a links page
find the "sitemap" . It shows a map of that whole website.
Look on that page or control-f ( edit >find) to look for the links
page
one last point
if you search amd brackets around the whole term the search engine treats it as one string rather than taking one word at a time and narrowing the list
diffirent smaller amount of more specific results
hope that this is simple enough

First pick a search engine - here are a few
www.google.com
www.yahoo.com
www.altavista.com
www.lycos.com
www.ask.com
In the search field of the search engine, enter key words of what you are looking for. The more key words you can think of, the narrower your results will be (therefore, the results are better.) Keywords are seperated by a space. If you want two words to be searched together, put quotes around them. These are examples of valid keyword strings:
dog food recipes
"dog food" recipes
In the case of ask.com, you can put in a structured sentence like "What are some recipes for dog food?"

What do you mean? how to search? you can write www.google.com and write key words of what you need or even a question and a bunch of sites that have anything to do with what you wrote will show up in a list with a short detail then you click on the one that interest you most... is this what you where asking ?

It really depends on what your looking for. I've found the best search engine to be http://www.google.com though I might get banned since I'm on Yahoo answers right now. LOL.
But you can modify your search and make it more indepth by doing an advanced search:
http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en

Use any search engine. (example google).
Use following keywords in your search text as
DOC - looking for any document on that subject
PDF - pdf file on that subject
PPT - any presentation file available on that subject
SCRIPT - any script file on that subject
Example, if you are looking for a document on Ant script,
search useing the keyword DOC Ant Script
This will return many sites which has downloadable documents on ant script

use boolean method.
Go to Google and type in key words of whatever you're looking for.
For instance: You want to find wheat losses in Nebraska for this year. Just type "2007 Nebraska wheat loss"
Sometimes you can get exact items by just asking: "Chances Of Winning Lottery in Michigan"
OR even: "Why does my dog eat onions?"
