Kevin Durant may become the better player than Greg Oden, but no question you go with Greg Oden here. He is the best big man to come out since Tim Duncan, and look at the Spurs, on the verge of winning their 4th Championship in 8 years. Greg Oden's an unbelievable force down inside. His presence alters the games, he may not get the blocks, but his presence will be felt. In today's game, you have to have a solid big man. Greg Oden is the big man the Blazers need. They made excellent picks last year in Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. Adding Oden, it can only get better.

I would say for the blazers that Oden is the better pick. The reasons being are that with the combination of Zach Randolph, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Oden that would immediately give Portland one of the best front lines in the NBA. Also when you look at the History of the NBA only 1 TRUE FRANCHISE CENTER (Patrick Ewing) did not win a championship in the league. While Odens style of play may not be as entertaining as Durants, it is more effective.

Look at the champion teams since MJ left the game, all of them had a dominant big man, and that what oden is going to be with time.

Oden is definatley the better pick, simply because of the shortage of true big men in the game today. They already have Brandon Roy on the perimeter now Oden on the inside gives them a one-two punch. Expect Zach Randolph to be moved, which would have happened even if they didn't get the pick. Possibly twin tower with Aldridge and Oden, although I believe Aldridge will end up being a bust, but Roy and Oden are the future in Portland!

Portland should draft Oden and send Randolph out of town. Aldridge showed with some limited minutes that he can play. With Udoka filling in for SF, a Bruce Browen-like player, the Blazers are almost set.
Unfortunetally it'd be hard to trade Randolph, but if there's the possibility of bringing a point guard, the Blazers will have a very bright future.

C - Oden
PF - Aldridge
SF - Udoka
SG - Roy
PG - ?

Although is very temptating to play Oden, Aldridge and Randolph at the same time, it wouldn't be possible, since neither Aldridge or Randolph have the skills to guard smaller forwards.

If your the portland trailblazers you have to pick Greg Oden this is why
1. your front court could know consist of oden, Roy, and Randolf which is impressive.
2. Oden would help their team defense and opp fg percentage plus points per game avg
3. portland has scorers but not defensive stoppers
4. oden may not have the offensive power of durant but he still has great potential and athleticsim.

Oden. You can't teach size and Portland's already got some guys that play at Durant's spot with great upside.

Gregg Oden is a better pick for the Portland Blazers because they need a downlow presence cause they need a big man. Defence wins championships.

oden.. oden is more of a solid offensive player and an excellent defensive player.. durant on the other hand has a more polished offensive game and i think should be the go to inside guy of a team to reach full potential.. an oden-randolf tandem is deadly.. durant-randolf will not co-exist because there is only one ball in a game.

Kevin Durant because they have All-Rookie C LaMarcus Alridge, which eliminates the need for Oden, and they have ROY PG Brandon Roy, as well as PF Zach. They need an outside threat and Durant is it.

durant is a better fit. they got 2 many big men. zach, pryziblla, magloire, aldridge? and if u include oden? id probably trade most of those. trade zach for a better sf, miles and outlaw suck. oden and aldridge starting, off the bench would be magloire, plus u have a good small forward for the zach trade, roy and jack backcourt, that would be a good lineup.
