Going to vegas with my girlfriend. I have been there before with the guys and have stayed at the hardrock and the palms. She wants to stay either at the luxor or the treasure island. Any recommendations/comparisons???

My husband took me while we were still engaged and we stayed at the Luxor, It's amazing. We did go to see the pirate show and I was not impressed. The crowd was just unreal. Make sure you see the fountain outside of the Belogio, very romantic. Oh, don't forget to take her on a gondola ride. Have a great time.

I've been in the Luxor (my friends had rooms there while I was next door), and for the deal they got, it was a nice hotel. Didn't seem too smoky. You could walk to Mandalay Bay and THE Hotel inside from the Luxor and take the monorail.
TI is closer to the main part of the strip, but not sure what the rooms are like.

The location issue is not with MGM, but specifically with Signature at MGM, which is a separate but affiliated property - it is a good half-mile from the strip to the entrance of the Signature. The rooms there will be FAR nicer than those at Treasure Island or Monte Carlo. And yes, you have access to the MGM pool, which is fantastic. Treasure Island has a great location, near several large shopping malls and lots of options for shows and restaurants. The pool there isn't bad - it's not great, but it's not awful. Average I guess. The rooms there are nice and the atmosphere is fun. Monte Carlo has a decent location on the strip, and nice enough rooms. The pool area is also pretty good there. Personally, because I really value a good location, I think I would choose in this order: Treasure Island Signature Monte Carlo

Oooh, lucky, my hubby and I have stayed at both. The luxor hotel has junior suites, and through expedia.com you can get a good deal. They are sooo nice, I would love to stay there again. The Treasure Island isn't as fancy but their beds are very comfortable. I'd pick Luxor over Treasure Island though. glgl, Mzz

I've stayed at both, and visited both within the last week. I found TI to be VERY smoky - worse than any other place in the city. I liked Luxor very much when we stayed there - security is top-notch, and the room was amazing.

Just stayed at the Luxor..much nicer than TI...classier..more to do..their still working on one of the pools but the other is open..check in was painless...

Personally, I would Choose TI, it is closer to Caesars Palace & The Vanitian. Pluse I like the whole Pirate theme =D
