I gather your parent(s) are putting their put down on your money you are receiving.

I have a son and he started at a supermarket job at 15. (after school and weekends)

I let him do what he wanted with his wages for the first 4-5 months then told him he had to save. Yes he bought mp4 players, DVD players, sound system .. Heaps of 'boys toys' things.

But then he did save on my advice. Took an overseas trip on his own 8 months into the job and now bought his first car.

Piercing you ear - I wouldn’t advise, it will only be in a short time before it get infected or you get sick of it. My son did the same thing.

The best bet is to save half of what you earn - because by the time you are 20 - you could have enough for a deposit for your own home!

Good Luck

Well, it is still up to your parents.
Ask yourself if it is fair that they totally support you and you are off spending money on things that you don't need.
Plus, they will probably pay for your transportation to and from the job, lunch while you are there, any shoes you may need...
If you want to get the go ahead from them, prove that you will spend money on necessities before you spend it on things that aren't.
Pay for your own school supplies, help with gas when they take you somewhere...
Sure, you will save money slower, but you are also keeping from having regrets.
And if you start saving money now, and don't touch it, you will be pretty well off when you are older.
A job is an opportunity not just for you to make money, but to learn some independent living skills.
If you can show your parents that you understand that, they should take a serious look at what other things you really want to do.

i think you should get a part time time job. you could make about 125 00 a week.
use some of that money to have a pro pierce your ear. save the rest of the money and go to summer school.

that sounds fair, doesnt it?

If you want to... it's your money and your ear... so long as your parents won't kill you or anything along those lines.

Only if you get all A's in spelling, then you may have an earring.

I don't see the big deal with guys piercing their ears but if you parents don't allow it then you shouldn't.Making your own money doesn't mean you can up and do as you please.
