the thing is
this or that
is some one's brother, cousin, and son
so its kinda controlling that way
people some how just dont like the odds

as long no one is hurt
and u know people just love to gossip
and get nosey
eventually it will be legal
its legal here in Germany
and it will be soon in USA
and eventually they will start fighting
whether G couples can adopt kids or no
and how to let young kids be brought up in a G house
gee, the list wont stop that far
just dont annoy ur self with it
if u r not streight or bi

That opens a can of worms that`s best left closed. I think a lot more people are tolerant of alternative lifestyles these days, but if gays are allowed to marry, how long before 4 or 5 people want to marry each other ? Then some guy wants to marry his goat or horse. It may sound far fetched, but there are some truly strange people out there(and in here). Their biggest complaint is that they don`t have the same rights that i do & that`s a load of crap. I can`t marry another man either. The only difference being, that I don`t want to.

Most people in the US don't mind of homosexual couples but they don't want the word "marriage" to be used. They feel that marriages should be between a man and a women but most feel that homosexual couples should be able to have civic unions. What these civic unions would do would give homosexual couples the same rights as married couples but not "sully" the word marriage. Married couples are allowed to visit each other in hospital, have tax reliefs, and many other perks. There are also some people who are just homophobic and don't want gay couples in general.
Hope this answers your question

Marriage is a religious definition. It has been for thousands of years. Every time it has been on a ballot it has been defeated. 70% and more Americans are against it. What conservatives do not like is courts feel they can tell us what we can and cannot do on this. It is a matter for the legislature, not the courts. Judges are by in large appointed, not elected. There is no accountability at the voting booth if you do not like them.
I suggest, as I have, look into countries that have gay marriage. Marriage has become a joke. Men and women live together (called cohabitation) and have kids and do not marry. Having a kid is a commitment.
If this does not work, I do not know what to say. I am 30 and my perspective on this has changed with age. Get to my age and you will see.

I don't care either. I am already married. I don't care if a man marries a man or a woman or his dog. I could care less.
I have neighbors who are gay. They are couples for several years, they pay their taxes, they hold important jobs. I live in an old neighborhood in the South... when a lot of gay people bought properties in my neighborhood they invested time and money to their properties... now my neighborhood is safer and our poperty values have increased greatly. If they want to marry I have absolutely no problem about it. I really wonder why so many people have a problem with this.
BTW, to the person who stated that marriage was instituted by religion is only half right... marriage was initially based on economics and politics. It wasn't about love and God, it was more about solidifying your political and economic strength... many kings and soldiers married women with different faiths and different religions (and God never smited those people).

because people are so caught up in humpty dumpty moral dogma that they somehow think they have the right to decide whether or not two people can legally join.
frankly, i'd like to see gay AND straight marriage banned.
only dendropheliacs can marry.
and for the record, before you give me that "sanctity of marriage" tripe, as long as shows like "joe millionaire" are on TV and our divorce rates are among the highest in the world, i'll maintain that marriage is a joke

I don't care what the marriage laws are so much, but I care that laws should be made by legislatures, NOT courts.

marriage between 2 consenting adults who chose to love each other is their business, regardless of gender, skin color, or religious affiliation.

the only answer I can give myself is that we have lost our core values that built this nation and now all the stuff like this is becoming radical, please read one of the holly books to see what that means.
