Tortured musician syndrome- her, Hendrix, Morrison, several others.
I'm an artist of a sort, but I never got that suffering for your art thing. Closest I ever get it when I stab myself with a needle.

I am sure that she is dead. Sorry I know it sucks, but why would anyone fake their own death that is just silly. She would have resurfaced by now if she was alive.
