Check for excess moisture where these are coming from. You could have a water leak. There is a slug bait product you can buy in a home/garden store. Also salt and putting some little cups of beer.

The salt is a good idea for paving but never put it in planting areas. It kills plants and the soil. (yes, you can kill soil)

You need to dry out the area around your house. Eliminate groundcovers and low hanging shrubs. You might want to put down a landscape fabric and coarse gravel out at least 2 feet and maybe more from the house.

Have rain gutter downspouts discharge the water way from the house.

Sounds like you have quite a population. Even if you start poisoning them, it will take years to eliminate them since they have such a bizarre lifecycle.

Side note: I had a friend who would don her Wellington boots after every rain and go outside and stomp the critters. Said it really helped save her sanity (personally I'd go insane doing that!)

The salt makes them melt. You can also take a tin pie pan and fill it with beer. For some reason they love it and crawl in and drown. dump this on the slug area as they hate the soggy mess. Also,,if I can spell it right,,,diatomatious earth.. It looks like powder, but is actually slivers which slice the little buggars. You can get it at a nursery. Also, they like to live in rotting vegitation, like leaves. Clean around your house to get rid of any piles of stuff sitting there.

you can buy some over the counter slug and snail killer, which usually is in granular form, then i would find plants around the yard that keep the ground underneath it wet through out the day, cause that's were they bread. then i would hand spread the insecticide over the plants so it reaches the ground below, and allow a couple of days to take effect. make sure if you have any dogs that you keep them away from the areas treated.

Pour a little bit of beer into shallow containers and put them around your house. They'll be attracted to the beer, crawl in, and drown.

Just be sure to use containers that you can throw out, unless you want to be cleaning dead slugs out of them!

there are all forms of slug bait that also take care of snails. But if you want to have some fun, lay a flat pan with beer in it, they love beer, and they will die in there.
