Take a pair of shorts the length you like and line them up together rise to rise and inseam to inseam laying the finished shorts on top of the jeans mark 2 inches below the hem with markers or common pins in a row-to allow for hem or one inch left over to fray.If you're going to fray them you might open the outer leg seam(at the bottom) a little too,to look cute.

I grew up in the 80's when this was very popular and it's very difficult to find a way to make pants into shorts. I guess cut them just below the knees and roll them up and try to cut with both legs together to be even.

-first put on the jeans.
-use a marker to guide you where you need to cut.
-make sure you don't make it too short, or else you'll be showing your ***, unless you want that.
- try to curve upwards from the inner to the outer thigh.
-SLIGHTLY shorter in the back than the front looks good.

just cut off where you want to and fold them to make little cuffs at the end...that's very in style right now
