No, the "American Idol" numbers are 866 numbers, which, like 800 numbers, are toll free. If you call from a cell phone, the calls do count toward your allotted minutes on your wireless plan, and if you choose to text message, they do charge you your standard text messaging fees, as Ryan announces every week.

(in the future, 855, 844, 833 and 822 may also be used)

no just text and you just pay whatever your phone company considers a normal call Charge
