Heh! As you can see, different kinds of people will give you different lists of the greates movies ever based on the type that they like. What is usually as the "definitive" list of the greatest films ever is the one composed by the American Film Institute:

http://www.afi.com/Docs/tvevents/pdf/movies100.pdf

My favourites, that I also regard as some of the best ever made (in no particular order), are:

Roman Holiday
Sabrina
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Casablanca
Citizen Kane
Singin' in the Rain
Sunset Boulevard
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
The Best Years of Our Lives
The African Queen
The Thin Man
Vertigo
Rebecca
Grand Hotel
Dial M for Murder
A Streetcar Named Desire

However, the number one movie on the AFI's list is Citizen Kane, Orson Welles' 1941 classic, which he directed, produced, wrote and starred in at the age of 25. The rest of the top ten, in order, are: Casablanca (#2), The Godfather (#3), Gone With the Wind (#4), Lawrence of Arabia (#5), The Wizard of Oz (#6), The Graduate (#7), On the Waterfront (#8), Schindler's List (#9) and Singin' in the Rain (#10).
Chances are you'll find most of the ones you considered to be some of the best in that list. If you didn't, they probably emerge in this list of the 400 films nominated for the above list.

Just so you know, the films in the final 100 were selected by over 1500 people "in the business" who each had to select any four of the 400 to be included in the final list.
