I want to thank you all for taking the time to answer my question, for further information, it is NOT my home work, I haven't been to school in over 10 yrs, besides if I wanted you to do the work for me I would have just given you the actual sum, but maths isn't my strong suit, to put it mildly, so I need help every now and then to get me going along the right path, once there, I can find my way. So thank you to every one who took my question seriously and helped me out by answering, I really appreciate it.
I am unable tp pick the best answer coz they are all great, so I'll leave it up to others to do.
Thanks again

OK, here how I do this.
Say the bill is $32
First take the $30. You know 70% of 10 is 7, so 7x3=21
20% of 10 is 2, so, 2x3=6
10% of 10 is 1, so 1x3=3
Now take the $2. 70% of 1 is .70, so, .70x2= 1.40
20% is .20 so .20x2= .40
10% of 1 is .10 so .10x2= .20
Add this all up for the $32 now
70% is $22.40
20% is $6.40
10% is $3.20
To check add the totals together 22.40 + 6.40 + 3.20 = $32

Multiple the total by .7, .2, and .1.
For example if your total is $10
$10*.7 = $7
$10*.2 = $2
$10*.1 = $1

You can always move the decimal point two spaces to the left and then multiple to find the percentage.

the percentage of a total always will be 100. but if you want to know for example how much is 70%, 20% and 10% you have to multiply in this way:
100 * 0.70 = 70
100 * 0.20 = 20
100 * 0.10 = 10 = 100

if the amount is 350 it would be
350 * 0.70 = 245
350 * 0.20 = 70
350 * 0.10 = 35 = 350
