I have had several laptops and the most unreliable was a Dell.

First tier Alienware, xps, then voodoo.
Second tier Dell toshiba hp,
third tier sony compac
dont go below that.

I have a buddy who runs a computer store.He said Toshiba
all the way.Just dont get the new microsoft (VISTA)?software if possible.He said it has too many glitches.Good Luck

I would have to say Dell ...BUT you need to remove all the crap software first thing. Sony is not so bad...quality is finally improved.
