Tell me.
why is it that conservatives are called conservatives when they are the ones who dont even believe in global warming and certainly dont to change their life styles to stop it!!! Bush even wanted to drill for oil in an arctic wildlife preserve!!
It seems to me the only thing they are conserving is the pompous power and their inflated egos!!!!!

sufer dud, I find that as an insult because I never have and NEVER will even step foot in a hummer! They are distrustive polluting pointless gas guzzlers and should be outlawed!!
I'm not some latte sipping, SUV driving, rich, stuck up, self-centerd, uncaring and ablivious southern Californian!! Who, by the way ,are RUINING my town, Bend, Oregon, with all their high compacted developments Everywhere!!

Is this a question, or a rant? Strikes me that it's more of a rant ( a no-no in Y/A). But to answer your ill thought out question:
A conservative, is someone not so quick to buy into every ponzy that is blowing in the wind. Take global warming for instance. Up until the 1970's the so-called "Experts" insisted that we were headed towards another ice age. They also said that the world had run out of oil and that we were facing a pandemic outbreak of the swine flu. Now, just because Al Gore says it's so, we should all run around like Chicken Little?
And that crack about life styles. You work why? And you have no burning desire to get ahead in life. So Al, Hillary and Ted all live in small, apartments that are fuel/energy efficient? And you expect me to give up what little privilege I've earned because "it's not fair!"?
What we are trying to conserve is the nation! Conserve it from a bunch of crackhead crack pots who don't know their hind ends from a hole in the ground -- which by the way, is just what this nation will we if the liberals have their way. There is good reason it took the lib.s twenty years to get back into power. I took that long for most to forget about all of the damage Jimmy Carter and ilk caused.

Do you think Al Gore wants to change his lifestyle to help the alleged global warming? He only wants to tell us how to live. He isn't going to give up his mansion or its incredibly high electric and oil bills. He isn't giving up his private jet. He wont even close his mouth long enough to keep that toxic fuel from leaking out of it.
Stop blaming conservatives for everything under the sun.

You're confusing conservative with conservationist. Think of what you picture when someone says "that's a conservative outfit." Conservative means preserving the status quo, not conserving resources.
