Hi!

I am a funded option 2 member with the Cryonics institute, http://www.cryonics.org.

As to the cost, my life insurance to pay for suspension costs $140/year, and I pay yearly dues of (I think) $70/year to CI.

CI has 80 patients currently in suspension, an active R&D program, and is transparent enough about their financials that I am comfortable with their (very) long term viability.

Fwiw, the current technology looks really promising. The vitrification systems in use now are a huge leap ahead of straight freezing in liquid nitrogen. Freezing damage to neural tissue is minimal.

Hope that helps,
Ellie

some wealthy human beings have completed that. If I had the money to pay for it, i does not. human beings die while their bodies are wiped out or destroyed. while some undesirable suffering soul dies, why might he opt to awaken in considered one of those wretched state? people who try this for real have self assurance that death is the top. i do no longer! i think of it would desire to in basic terms be the start. yet, considered one of those subject might present day itself in area holiday sooner or later. If a individual traveled to a much off famous individual gadget through a malicious program hollow and decrease back to earth ten years later, he might desire to discover that the earth had elderly quite a few thousand years. that is on the factor of an identical subject, does not it?

I think that it's a cool idea. On top of that, hopefully they'll figure out how to clone people, too. Then I can have my very own evil twin. No more boring classes for me!

I don't know anyone that wealthy. I don't think its a possibility in anytime in the near future.

I liked the idea in Vanilla Sky - you are in a chosen dreamstate while frozen and they wake you up when you want.
