Don't put a Betta with goldfish.

Goldfish produce too much waste for Bettas to handle.

First off...why would you put them together? The betta is a small tropical fish that needs a heater in the water...while the goldfish get to be 8 - 10 " and are coldwater fish. They aren't compatible at all..but not because of the fighting Siamese.
Male bettas are only aggressive to other male bettas (and guppies whom they MISTAKE as male bettas). The goldfish..if large enough might EAT the betta..but not attack it out of aggression.

They won't fight or kill each other, the betta is too small to kill a goldfish, but it could very likely be the other way around. Goldfish only go with goldfish and NO other fish anyway so I wouldn't do it if I were you.
If you are attempting to house both of these fish in a bowl, please reconsider. Betta can live in a large bowl alone IF you are attentive to water changes. Goldfish however need large tanks they absoulutely cannot live inside a fish bowl. That is a terrible horrible myth that just won't go away.
If you don't believe me ask the question... Can goldfish live in a bowl? and see the answers you get out of that one.

Goldfish and bettas should never be kept to gether. They are a tropical(betta) and a coldwater fish(goldfish). Also goldfish get much larger than the betta and will eventually kill it, if its still alive from being cold all the time.

Aside from the fact that the betta will eat the goldfish's fins, you should not put bettas and goldfish together.
Bettas are tropical (warm water) fish and goldfish are cold water fish. A betta would not thrive in a goldfish environment.

Betta's are very aggressive fish. You can never tell if it will kill something, but it is a good bet that if it can kill it easily, it probably will try.

The best action is to put the goldfish in the bowl for a little bit and watch them. If they seem OK, leave them in for an hour or so. Normally, the betta will attempt to attack the other fish pretty quickly. If this happens. take the other fish out and separate them.

I would also speak to a marine aquatics (also known as fish seller) at the store you bought it.

Only if the betta is a male. But bettas need warm water and goldfish need cold water, so they wouldn't go well in a tank together.

Bettas and Angels would fight, Bettas and goldfish can co-exist at the same temperatures, the higher range for goldish.

Nope, they will not usually fight or hurt each other in any way. Lots of misunderstandings and myths surround the betta, but it is really a very peaceful fish except to other bettas.
