Go to "Start", "Control Panel", "System", "Device Manager",click on the "Hardware" tab, then click on "display adapter".You may have a"on-board" video processor at present(built into the motherboard).A video card usually refers to a removable type such as made by Nvidea or ATI.
Please tell us what Dell computer model you have and the video adaptor when you find out.

FIRST OFF LET ME TELL IT IS HARD TO DO THAT YOU WILL NEED SOME KNOWLEDGE.....HERE GOES
YOU MUST SEE IS YOUR VIDEO CARD IS INTEGRATED OR NOT IF NOT YOU GOOD TO GO WHAT I MEAN BY INTERGRATED IS IT IS ATTACHED TO THE MOTHER BOARD IF NOT BY WHICH I MEAN IT IS IN A AGP SLOT OT A PCI OR A ISA IF A OLD COMPUTER YOUR GOOD TO GO....JUST UNPLUG THE OLD ONE AND PUT THE NEW ONE IT AND INSTALL THE DRIVER

however if it is intergrated AND YOU DIDN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD I SAID ABOVE IT BETTER YOU GET A TECHNICIAN...

IF INTERGRATED VIDEO CARD WILL HAVE FIRST BUY A VIDEO CARD ACCORDING TO THE SLOTS YOU HAVE...USUALLY A PCI VIDEO CARD IN DELLS BUT NOT ALL WAYS I HAVE SEEN AGP THEN YOU INSTALL THE VIDEO CARD INTO THE SLOT AND THEN YOU MUST GO TO BIOS YOU BASIC INPUT OUTPUT SYSTEM AND DISABLE THE INTEGRATED VIDEO CARD AND THEN YOU ARE GOOD TO GO.......IT IS A LONG PROCESS....HOWEVER IT YOU COMPUTER CANT PLAY SIMS I PRESUME IT IS A OLD COMPUTER....THUS I BELIEVE YOU'D BE BETTER OFF WITH A NEWER COMPUTER THEY ARE CHEAP 300 BUCK CAN GET YOU NICE DELL OR HP.....HOWEVER IF YOU WANT TO UPGRADE YOUR GRAPHICS CARD THOSE ARE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO DO IT....GOOD LUCK AND SIMS ROCK!!!!!
